The Journey of Our Ministry
Where Our Story Began
The story of Church of Samaria Fellowship did not begin with a building. It began with a calling, continued through a season of silence, and found a new beginning when that calling was answered again.
2013
The Original Calling
In 2013, Pastor Cedric Mayfield began an online ministry, sharing the Word of God beyond the walls of a traditional church building. That first chapter eventually came to a close, and the ministry entered a different season.
Approximately 2013–2023
Ten Years of Silence
After the original online ministry ended, there followed a decade-long season away from that work. Pastor Cedric has described this period as ten years of silence. It is an important part of the testimony and the journey that would eventually bring the ministry to a new beginning.
2023
Answering the Call Again
In 2023, following the COVID-19 pandemic, First Lady Violet Mayfield, affectionately known as Lady V, encouraged Pastor Cedric to return to ministry. He answered that call again, and the ministry relaunched through online worship. What some thought might only be temporary would become the beginning of something much greater.
The Next Step
From Online to In Person
As the fellowship continued, worship transitioned from online services to gatherings at a hotel. What began on a screen had become an in-person community of believers worshiping, learning, and growing together in faith.
June 2, 2024
A Place to Call Home
On June 2, 2024, Church of Samaria Fellowship held its first Sunday worship service at 5404 Cochran Street in Houston, Texas. Beginning at 11:00 AM, that gathering marked a meaningful milestone in the church's story and the beginning of worship in its current church home.
A Testimony of Answering the Call
Ten Years of Silence. Then He Said Yes.
For approximately ten years, the original ministry was no longer active. But in 2023, with the encouragement of his wife, First Lady Violet "Lady V" Mayfield, Pastor Cedric Mayfield answered the calling to ministry again.
That renewed yes became part of a remarkable journey—from online worship to gatherings at a hotel, and finally to a church home on Cochran Street. Today, the story continues through the faith and fellowship of Church of Samaria Fellowship.

June 2, 2024
Our First Sunday in Our Church Home
On June 2, 2024, Church of Samaria Fellowship gathered for its first worship service at 5404 Cochran Street in Houston, Texas. At 11:00 AM, the congregation came together at the location that would become its continuing place of worship and fellowship. From an online beginning to a physical church home, this day marked an unforgettable chapter in the ministry's journey.

Together, they continue serving alongside the CSF family as the ministry moves forward in faith.
